The Pool Medic has teamed up with a long-time friend, Todd Davies, with Hummingbird Pool Services to help craft a homeowner's backyard paradise. We are a custom builder who will take the home layout, architecture, and landscape and incorporate it into a naturally blending design. With decades of knowledge of what separates a custom-built pool from the "cookie-cutter" build, our clients will enjoy an outdoor paradise that not only looks cool but is built with no sacrifice in construction integrity. Call us today, and we can go over your ideas and show you what separates us from the rest. Custom waterscapes starting from the 80s.
Zero flex PVC will be used on tricky spa plumbing. Yes, the flex PVC is easier to use, but it is substantially of lesser quality in comparison to the hard PVC that we heat and mold. Not only is it more prone to leak, but termites eat it too. Of course, these problems don't surface until years down the road, leaving the homeowner with an expensive repair bill.
What is inside the structure is as important as what is on the outside. I would argue that this is the most important part - this is the strength of the structure. We will only use a minimum of #4 (1/2 inch) rebar in the structure of your pool. This is the standard for International Building Code (I.B.C.). We will not substitute for anything less.
The American Concrete Institute (A.C.I.) calls for a minimum of 4000 psi to give gunite it's strength to make the concrete structure impermeable from water seepage. We shoot at 5000 psi to allow the structure to be compatible with saltwater pool systems.
The red material you see in this photo is Hydro Ban; it's a waterproofing membrane that's painted on before a thin-set or mortar mix is applied. Hydro Ban will help keep moisture penetration from the backside of the tile or stone, leaving mineral deposits and efflorescence from growing. Skipping this simple process isn't an option, because the only option in the future to remove those deposits is
Imagine the pool pump as a human heart, the PVC plumbing as the veins, and the liver as the filter. If none of these is the proper size to work in combination with one another, then we have an underperforming system. The energy-saving variable speed pumps only work when the plumbing and filter is the correct size, which usually means larger. The undersized pipe can cause stress and eventually lead
The only pool lighting we use is low-voltage LED lighting. Not only is it safer than traditional 120v lighting, but it's much more energy efficient.
